The farms are designed, equipped and operationalized in accordance with accepted quality, hygiene & health standards. Furthermore the requirements of food safety management system are strictly enforced thus ensuring hazard free food for the consumers.
Critical management factors are given special considerations by means of a wide range of poultry equipment and disease control methods. Temperature is kept at optimum level keeping in view changing weather conditions. Ventilation is provided using industrial strength exhaust fans to remove moisture & ammonia from the environment. Availability of clean/proper feed and water consumption is monitored by the concerned & technical staff. Special care is taken to provide a specific formula feed mix meals which consist of rich protein & energy elements to meet the needs of the versatile flock size.
FEEDING SYSTEM & WATER PROVISION
An open drinking system is implemented and water is provided by means of automatic round/bell drinkers ensuring a constant supply of sufficient hygienic drinking water and allowing the supply to many poultry drinkers at one time. A controlled feeding program is used with special attention given to bird density, feeder space, nutrient requirements and environmental conditions. The feed is kept free from antibiotics ensuring a clean feed as well as manure drying is also ensured which significantly lowers the poultry house’s ammonia levels. Feed & water lines run the length of the shed at regular intervals and are placed in such a manner so that chickens are never more far from food and water offering optimum comfort to layers & breeders alike.
ALLIED FACILITIES & CLIMATE CONTROL
Adequate housing is provided that contain climate manipulating equipment to control the temperature, moisture, air quality and light easily and efficiently. Ventilation & air movement is carried out through air inlets, exhaust fans and vents to provide environmental control and proper air speed. Ample numbers of temperature sensors are installed and adjusted regularly so that condensation is maintained at proper levels. Exhaustive air treatment is carried out through efficient dust filters as well as air washers that separate dust, ammonia and odor-carrying agents from the air. Air chimneys distribute an optimal amount of fresh, mixed or circulating air based on the ventilation requirements.
BIOSECURITY & DISEASE PREVENTION
A set of integrated biosecurity practices are adopted for minimizing the occurrences of diseases and reducing the risk of transmitting them from the outdoor environment. A rodent control program is practiced by employing mechanical traps and chemical techniques to keep the vermin population in check. Strict sanitation methods are used such as cleaning of the vegetation around the sheds and spraying of bleaching powder mixed with lime near the sheds. Disinfection of all equipment & walls are carried out with detergents & disinfectants to ensure a hygienic and decontaminated environment. The houses are fumigated, cleaned regularly to free them from dust & cobwebs and equipped with appropriate screens to protect from fly problems.
